The CMJTT was founded by David Bischoff in 2003 to give youth bowlers of Central MN a scratch tournament to participate in without the long drive of other youth tournaments. The SMJTT was added by Kara and Kenny Stemig in 2010 to give youth from Southern MN another tournament option. Two divisions were formed to give lower average bowlers a chance to compete for scholarship money. The divisions today are Division I, 186 average and above, and Division II, 185 average and below. It has since grown into state-wide monthly events. Tournaments are held the 1st (CMJTT) or 4th (SMJTT) Sunday of the month (see schedule page) Registration begins at 8:00 am with tournament play beginning at 9:00 am. Tournament consists of a 6 game scratch qualifying block with the top 8 (or less depending on number of entries) in each division advancing to a single game single elimination bracket with a consolation bracket. Bowlers are awarded scholarships which are paid through the USBC Smart program. $5 brackets and Junior Gold qualifiers are available with enough participants.
